Speciality Gas Southeast acquisition
Gas and welding distributor nexAir has entered the Atlanta market by acquiring Specialty Gases Southeast Inc, increasing nexAir’s footprint to 14 states in the Southeast US.
Though terms of the deal were not released, the company said it plans to expand its services in medical and industrial gases and specialty gases in the Atlanta area through the purchase. nexAir will also add beverage and dry ice divisions for the Atlanta metro market.
Kevin McEniry, CEO of nexAir, said in a statement, “Specialty Gases Southeast already had a strong foothold in Atlanta, but we are looking forward to bringing 60-plus years of experience in the gases industry to the area and further expanding an already successful company.”
Based in Memphis, nexAir is one of the largest distributors of gas and welding supplies in the US. The company sells, packages and distributes atmospheric gases for the medical, specialty, beverage, industrial and welding industries, while it also sells related products, including specialised medical and welding equipment, as well as dry ice.
Founded in 1940, the company has more than 300 employees.
