Sixty years celebrated by Cee Kay

St. Louis-based Cee Kay Supply Inc, the largest independent industrial gas and welding distributor in Missouri, celebrates its 60-year anniversary in 2008 and reflects on a successful journey to solid financial performance.

Founded by Ralph Chase and Ralph Knight, Cee Kay opened for business in St. Louis, MO in 1948 as a distributor for National Cylinder Gas Company, a manufacturer of gases and welding equipment.

Cee Kay has distributed welding equipment from equipment manufacturers suchas Miller, Lincoln, Hypertherm, and Thermadyne Holdings Corporation, to name a few.

The company has also produced bulk and cylinder gases to more than 20,000 customers throughout Missouri and Illinois. Its products and services are used in scores of industries including oil and petrochemicals, steel, food, beverage, laboratory research, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, electronics and metal fabrication. Cee Kay’s sales have grown from $100,000 per year in 1948 to over $20m in 2007.
